The UC Merced School of Natural Sciences EXCEL! Program, in collaboration with the campus community, promotes student success by empowering students to become self-directed learners and decision-makers.

In an environment that is welcoming, inclusive and supportive, the EXCEL! Program will provide quality academic coaching and referral services to help students cultivate effective and adaptable behaviors, develop successful academic strategies, and to connect with university resources. The EXCEL! Program will assist students to explore career options, be accountable for academic plans, and gain the skills needed to be a successful college student.
